Electric Wafer Butterfly Valves

Electric wafer butterfly valves combine a resilient-seated wafer butterfly valve with a quarter-turn electric actuator for automated isolation and disc-positioning duties in industrial piping systems. The valve is installed between mating pipe flanges, providing a compact and lightweight alternative to conventional flanged butterfly valves where installation space, pipeline weight, and overall cost need to be controlled.

The wafer body design has a short face-to-face dimension and requires less space than a double-flanged valve. This makes it suitable for large-diameter pipelines, skid-mounted equipment, HVAC systems, water treatment units, utility lines, and other installations where a compact valve arrangement is required.

A range of body, disc, and seat materials is available to match the process medium and operating conditions. Resilient seat options can be selected for water, air, non-aggressive chemicals, and other media compatible with the chosen elastomer or PTFE sealing material. Stainless steel and nickel aluminum bronze disc options can also be specified where improved corrosion resistance is required.

The valve can be supplied with ON/OFF, modulating, or intelligent electric actuators. ON/OFF actuators are suitable for remote open-close operation, while modulating versions allow controlled adjustment of the disc position for throttling applications. Intelligent actuator versions can provide local status indication and parameter setting where additional control and monitoring are required.

Electric wafer butterfly valves are commonly used in water and wastewater treatment, HVAC and building services, industrial utility systems, chemical process lines, power and energy projects, and general fluid-handling applications requiring automated butterfly valve operation.
