Electric flanged butterfly valves combine a resilient-seated flanged butterfly valve body with a quarter-turn electric actuator for automated isolation and general throttling duties in industrial piping systems.
The integral flanged body connects directly to mating pipeline flanges, providing a stable installation arrangement for medium- and large-diameter pipework. Compared with wafer-style butterfly valves, the flanged construction has its own flange faces and bolt holes, which can simplify alignment during installation and is well suited to permanent process lines, utility networks, and applications where a robust bolted connection is preferred.
A range of body, disc, and seat material combinations is available to suit different media and operating conditions. NBR, EPDM, VITON, and PTFE seat options allow the valve to be selected for water, air, oils, compatible chemicals, and other industrial media within the applicable material and temperature limits. Stainless steel and nickel aluminum bronze disc options are also available where improved corrosion resistance is required.
The valve can be supplied with ON/OFF, modulating, or intelligent electric actuators. ON/OFF actuators provide remote 90-degree open-close operation, while modulating versions allow controlled adjustment of the disc position for general throttling and flow-adjustment duties. Intelligent actuator options can provide local status indication and parameter setting where additional monitoring functions are required.
Electric flanged butterfly valves are commonly used in water and wastewater treatment, HVAC and building services, industrial utility systems, chemical process lines, power and energy projects, and large-diameter piping systems requiring automated butterfly valve operation.
