Electric Lugged Butterfly Valves

Electric lugged butterfly valves combine a resilient-seated lug-type butterfly valve with a quarter-turn electric actuator for automated isolation and general throttling duties in industrial piping systems.

The lugged body is fitted with individual threaded mounting lugs around the valve perimeter. Each pipeline flange can be bolted to the valve body separately, providing a more secure installation arrangement than a standard wafer body and helping maintain valve alignment during installation. This construction is commonly selected for pipework layouts where section-by-section maintenance or equipment replacement needs to be considered.

The valve can be supplied with different body, disc, and sealing material combinations to suit the process medium, service temperature, and corrosion-resistance requirements. NBR, EPDM, FKM, and PTFE sealing options allow the valve to be configured for water, air, oils, compatible chemicals, and other industrial media within the applicable material limits.

ON/OFF electric actuators provide remote 90-degree open-close operation, while modulating versions allow controlled adjustment of the disc position for general throttling applications. Intelligent actuator options can provide local valve-status indication and parameter setting where additional monitoring or control functions are required.

Electric lugged butterfly valves are commonly used in water and wastewater treatment, HVAC systems, industrial utility lines, chemical process equipment, power and energy projects, and large-diameter piping systems requiring electrically actuated butterfly valve control.
