Pneumatic Butterfly Valve Purchasing Guide

Welcome to our professional selection guide. To find the ideal pneumatic butterfly valve for your application, consider these six key technical factors:

  • Valve Size & Connection Type: Specify the nominal pipe diameter (DN32 to DN1400 / 1¼” to 56″) and the required end connection: wafer, flanged, or sanitary clamp. For flanged valves, indicate the applicable piping standard (ANSI, DIN, JIS, or GB).
  • Body & Disc Material: Select based on your process media and operating environment: cast iron or WCB for general industrial use, SS304/316/316L for corrosive or hygienic applications, and UPVC/CPVC for chemical dosing systems. Disc material should be specified separately if different from the body.
  • Seal Material & Working Pressure: Choose EPDM for water and mild media, PTFE for chemical resistance, VITON for oil and solvent service, food-grade silicone for hygienic applications, or full fluorine lining (PTFE) for highly corrosive media. For working pressures up to 40 bar or high-temperature steam service, specify a hard-seated (metal seal) configuration.
  • Working Temperature: Provide both the normal operating temperature and any peak temperature excursions. UPVC/CPVC models are rated to 80°C; standard soft-seat models handle up to 150°C.
  • Actuation Type & Air Supply: Select single acting (spring return) for fail-safe positioning upon air loss, or double acting for faster cycling where continuous air supply is guaranteed. Confirm your available air supply pressure (operating range: 2.5 to 8 bar).
  • Accessories & Automation Requirements: For remote or automated operation, indicate whether you require a positioner (proportional control), limit switch (position feedback), solenoid valve (electrical triggering), F.R.L. unit (air conditioning), or manual handwheel override. VINCER can supply and pre-assemble all accessories prior to shipment.
