Electric metal-seated butterfly valves are designed for automated isolation and general throttling in high-temperature and high-pressure piping systems. They combine a metal-seated butterfly valve with a quarter-turn electric actuator for remote operation in applications where resilient seat materials may not be suitable.
The metal sealing construction uses stainless steel seating components instead of elastomer seats. This helps the valve withstand operating conditions involving elevated temperatures, pressure fluctuations, abrasive media, or services where soft sealing materials may degrade or lose sealing performance over time. The valve body and disc can be specified in WCB, SS304, SS316, or SS316L according to the process medium and corrosion-resistance requirements.
Wafer and flanged connection designs are available for different installation conditions. Wafer versions provide a compact installation option between mating pipe flanges, while flanged versions offer an integral bolted connection for process lines where a more robust installation arrangement is preferred.
The valve can be equipped with ON/OFF, modulating, or intelligent electric actuators. ON/OFF actuators are suitable for remote open-close operation, while modulating versions allow controlled disc positioning for general throttling duties. Intelligent actuator options can provide local operating-status indication and parameter setting.
Electric metal-seated butterfly valves are commonly used in steam piping, power generation, thermal oil systems, petrochemical processing, metallurgy, industrial furnaces, and other demanding process lines requiring electrically actuated valve operation at elevated temperatures.
