Electric V-Port Segmented Ball Valves

Electric V-port segmented ball valves are designed for applications that require more controlled flow regulation than a standard full-port ball valve can provide. The V-shaped opening in the segmented ball creates a progressively increasing flow area as the valve rotates, allowing the flow rate to be adjusted more gradually across the operating range.

Different V-port angles are available to match different control requirements. Smaller V-port angles are generally better suited to lower-flow or finer-control applications, while larger angles provide higher flow capacity. This makes the valve suitable for regulating process fluids in systems where stable flow adjustment is more important than simple open-close isolation.

The segmented ball design is well suited to handling fibrous, viscous, or particle-containing media. During operation, the edge of the V-port can produce a shearing action against the seat, helping reduce the risk of media buildup around the sealing area. This can be useful in pulp and paper processes, wastewater treatment, slurry handling, chemical processing, food processing, and other applications involving suspended solids or difficult media.

The valve can be equipped with ON/OFF, modulating, or intelligent electric actuators. For flow-control applications, modulating actuators allow the valve position to be adjusted through standard control signals, while intelligent actuator versions can provide local operating-status indication and parameter setting.

Electric V-port segmented ball valves are commonly used in chemical process lines, water and wastewater treatment systems, paper and pulp production, industrial automation equipment, mixing systems, and process skids requiring electrically actuated flow control.
